Samsung unveiled five new devices at its Unpacked 2026 event in London, featuring three new foldable phones and two updated smartwatches. The lineup includes two iterations of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, alongside the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9. Preorders for the phones begin July 22, with the watches and other accessories following shortly after.

New Watch Models with Enhanced Health Tracking
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 introduce several health and fitness upgrades. Both models support a Heart Health Score that converts cardiovascular indicators into an easier-to-understand metric. They also feature a Daily Cardio Load estimate, which measures daily training intensity to help users decide if a recovery break is needed. Additionally, the watches will support Sleep Apnea detection, hearing alerts for dangerous noise levels, and a Vitals feature that tracks health parameters during sleep.
Samsung positioned the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 as the premium option in the new wearable lineup. It comes in a single model with LTE connectivity included at a price of $699.99. The device measures 47 mm and features a 5,000-nit display, making it the world’s first smartwatch to offer such brightness. Under the hood, it uses the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The battery capacity is 800 mAh, offering a 35% boost over the previous Ultra model without increasing thickness.

Those looking for a more affordable option have the Galaxy Watch 9, which starts at $379.99 for the 40 mm Bluetooth model. It features the same Snapdragon Wear Elite platform but comes with 32 GB of storage and a lower-resolution screen. The 40 mm model has a 390 mAh battery, while the 44 mm version offers a 445 mAh capacity. Battery life on the standard watch is rated at up to 30 hours with the Always-on display enabled.
Foldable Phone Designs and Pricing
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 model has a passport-style form factor, offering users a wider-but-shorter external display, which creates a more tablet-like experience. The direct successor of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is now called Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and features a similar design to the previous model. Finally, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the successor of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 clamshell flagship. Unlike last year, there’s no Fan Edition version of the new Flip model. The three new foldable phones are available to preorder in the U.S. and other markets on July 22, and the two new Galaxy-branded watches join them.

Existing iPhone users looking to switch to the new foldables can use the new Smart Switch data transfer method. The feature allows users to scan a QR code on their handsets to initiate wireless data transfers without downloading additional apps. Samsung also announced that the new foldables will support Quick-Share, similar to AirDrop functionality on Pixel devices. All three foldables run Android 17 out of the box, which includes new Galaxy AI tools and Google Gemini features.
