Rithum Home app launched for iOS and Android in 2023, responding to installer and customer demand.

Rithum has launched a mobile app for remote control of its heating, cooling, and hot water systems. The Rithum Home app is available for iOS and Android devices, mirroring the interface of the company’s wall-mounted controls.

Remote control for Rithum installations

The app allows users to adjust temperature settings and schedules for individual zones, with property-wide modes like Home, Away, and Holiday. It was developed in response to demand from installers and their customers, who increasingly expect smartphone access as a standard feature.

According to Ryan Ovens, Rithum’s Founder and CEO, “Every client asks for an app, and until now the honest answer was either no or a second system alongside the one you have just installed.” The app does not require extra hardware and uses the same interface as the wall unit.

My Rithum platform for homeowners

Alongside the app, Rithum has introduced My Rithum, a new client platform for system handover, backup, and restore. It allows homeowners to make adjustments themselves, while installers retain an ongoing relationship with the system. The platform also includes backup and restore functions, reducing the work required during warranty exchanges.

My Rithum is available to all Rithum owners at no charge for basic functions, with a paid subscription option for advanced features like remote configuration changes and extended warranty. This development means that homeowners can now have more control over their heating systems, even when they’re not at home, and can make adjustments on-the-go using their smartphones, which is a significant shift in how people interact with their home heating systems.

The company’s products support control of various home systems, including lighting, heating, intercoms, cameras, audio, and blinds. Each unit contains its own processor, eliminating the need for a separate hub or controller.

Expanding software capabilities

The mobile app is launching initially with Rithum Stat control, with additional functions to follow. My Rithum is now available to existing owners as the company expands its software capabilities around its installed hardware base. Subscription plans are charged per Switch, with the price per unit decreasing as the number of installed devices increases.

The standard warranty can be extended up to four years, while the enhanced version can be extended up to five years. The app and My Rithum platform are designed to provide a more seamless experience for homeowners and installers, with a focus on remote control and system management.

With the launch of the Rithum Home app and My Rithum platform, the company is positioning itself as a complete solution for home heating and cooling control, offering a range of features and capabilities that cater to the needs of both homeowners and installers. The app’s user-friendly interface and remote control capabilities are likely to appeal to those seeking a more convenient and efficient way to manage their home heating systems.
