The Asus Prime Z890-P Wi-Fi motherboard targets users seeking a balance between performance and affordability. It supports the latest Intel Core Ultra series processors, including the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, and Core Ultra 9 285K. Power delivery is handled by an 18-phase VRM system, while the six-layer black PCB includes exposed areas and minimal heatsinks typical for its class. Four M.2 slots are available, with the top one offering PCIe 5.0 x4 (128 Gbps) and the others running at PCIe 4.0 x4. RAID 0/1/5 support is included for storage configurations.
The rear panel provides eight USB ports: one USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), four USB 2.0, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps). A Thunderbolt 7 port offers 2.9 Gbps speeds, and integrated Wi-Fi 7 (BE200NGW) supports 6 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands. Audio is managed via a Realtek ALC897 codec. Two 8-pin EPS ProCool connectors supply power, and Vishay SIc639 DrMOS 80A MOSFETs ensure stability under load. Cooling is controlled through multiple 4-pin fan headers, with settings accessible via BIOS or Armoury Crate software.

Memory support reaches up to DDR5-8666 MT/s (OC) with Asus’ Enhanced Memory Profile II (AEMP III) and DIMM Fit Pro. The motherboard includes a BIOS FlashBack button for firmware updates, a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port, and a reinforced PCIe slot (Safeslot). Additional features like a quick-connect Wi-Fi antenna, M.2 screws, SATA cables, and a quick start guide are included. While lacking onboard RGB, it offers headers for customization. Large video cards are compatible, though M.2 heatsink sizes may be restricted due to space constraints.
